Entrepreneur Focus Group (EFC)

unknown

Today was my first visit with the Entrepreneur Focus Group (EFC) arranged by Bettina Hovarth, the regional developer of Sales Partners Cape Region. This is only one of the services offered by Sales Partners Cape Region.

The group provides a safe environment for business owners to get together and brainstorm relevant and pressing issues within their own business or the environment that those businesses operate in.

This is a 6 week program / commitment. The group meets every two weeks at Die ou Pastorie in Somerset West.

During this first meeting yesterday we discussed the issue of employing personnel and the procedures to be put in place to ensure you employ correctly first time round.

I will keep you posted over the next 6 weeks with the progress of the group.

Lonely world of small business owners

Recently it once again become clear to me how lonely being in business for yourself can get.

As a business owner you tend to create the impression that you have it all under control at all times and in doing so you cut yourself off from everybody else and maybe the person that could help you. Also in the business community I find we are not very willing to share what is really going on with one another.

By finding likeminded individuals or groups we may find that if we are willing to share with one another we would perhaps grow more and achieve more.

Yes yes I know that not all business owners will be willing to share and some will only be in it for themselves but in order for business to transform we as business owner need to develop our networks and support structures.

Credit card costs

I recently came across two separate individuals asking about credit cards costs. This has been an interesting question. And worth looking into during these interesting times of our economy.

On researching this one of my new clients www.savvycell.co.za passed on these very useful webpages – http://www.thinkmoney.co.za/ and http://www.justmoney.co.za/CreditCardCompare.aspx.

You are able to compare the costs and interest rates of different credit cards on these sites. These are worthwhile bookmarking.

I hope this helps.

Twitter

UntitledI have become a bit of a twitter fanatic. Where else would you be able to talk to a stock trader in London and share thoughts with one of Blair Singer and Robert Kiyosaki’s Personal couches, Jayne Johnson at the same time.

It has made the world a whole lot smaller. And it is absolutely great. To make my Twitter live easier I have recently downloaded TweetDeck. The program assists with managing my groups and allows me to tweet from my desktop. It is still a learning process for me but I am enjoying every minute.

Sign up for Twitter and experience it yourself. Please let me know what you think after you have signed up.

The E-Myth Revisited

UntitledThis is one of the best business books I have read in a very long time.

This is so though provoking that it’s scary. This book made me completely rethink our business and the way it operates. Please understand that it is not a miracle cure but a way forward. You will need to implement the items that you take from the book. You will have to sit back and rethink some parts of your business. Be honest and you will take something valuable from this book.

The link below has 5 recommended business books to read. I would still add “Trump – Think big” to this list. I think this The E-myth Revisited is a very good book to start with. I wish I had read this 4 years ago.
